CD Projekt Red Has Announced The Release of The New Witcher Trilogy and the Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel

During a recent studio update, CD Projekt Red revealed the fate of its two most well-known series, The Witcher and Cyberpunk. Such as continuations and spin-offs. The upcoming Witcher Trilogy, codenamed Project Polaris, which CDPR wants to deliver across six years, is perhaps the most significant announcement. Two additional spin-off games for the brand, developed by other parties, are also in the works and will add fresh elements like multiplayer.

According to CD Projekt Red, two other Witcher games, unrelated to the Polaris Trilogy, are also in production. Canis Majoris, the first of them, will be “a full-fledged Witcher game, produced by an external team, directed by experienced devs who have worked on previous Witcher games,” according to its description.

Codenamed Orion, the upcoming Cyberpunk title from CDPR features Hader

Due to the success of the Edgerunner anime and the game finally being in a playable condition, Cyberpunk 2077 has experienced a comeback. The game’s introduction in 2012 sparked a wave of anticipation that continued until its eventual release in 2020. But it quickly became clear that the game had been released in an incomplete, unusable condition. Since then, the game has changed for the better, but what lies ahead for the franchise?

Phantom Liberty, the first and only significant narrative expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, is scheduled for release in 2023 and will not support the PS4 or Xbox One. While CDPR is concentrating on Witcher now, the firm has already revealed the sequel to the game. The game, Project Orion, will further the series and keep maximizing the possibilities of this gloomy far-future setting.
